For companies, fleets and building managers
E-bike charging you have under control
Employees, tenants and company bikes all need to charge. Instead of chargers in offices and extension leads in the bike room, give them one dedicated, protected and documented place.

EPBD directive
New rules for bike parking. Plan e-bike charging right away.
The EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EU) 2024/1275 requires member states to ensure bike parking at non-residential buildings with more than 20 car parking spaces by 1 January 2027, for at least 10% of the building's total user capacity. New buildings and major renovations face even broader requirements.
Most of the new spaces will be used by e-bikes: in Germany and Austria more than half of all bikes sold are electric. If you plan the power supply for charging together with the bike spaces, you avoid building work later and batteries stop being charged in offices.
- EU deadline 1 January 2027Existing offices, shops, industrial and public buildings with more than 20 car spaces; the exact obligations are set by national law.
- The directive counts on e-bikesFor new buildings and major renovations it explicitly requires ducting for e-bike charging too.

Where you are now
You already charge e-bikes. You just don't know everything about it.
In most companies and residential buildings, charging just happened – and nobody manages it.
Chargers in offices
Batteries charge under desks, in kitchenettes and in corridors. Often overnight, unattended and on escape routes.
Extension leads in the bike room
Several chargers on one circuit and multi-plug adapters. A typical overload the wiring was never designed for.
Responsibility without oversight
The operator is liable for a fire. Quietly tolerating charging can also mean a reduced insurance payout.
Safety
Turn charging from chance into a managed operation
Firefighters warn that batteries most often catch fire while charging. A Powerbox station concentrates charging in one dedicated place that is documented and supervised.
“The greatest risk of a fire is not during normal use, but while charging.”
| Socket and extension lead | Powerbox station | |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Offices, corridors, storerooms. | One dedicated place away from escape routes. |
| Wiring | Multi-plug adapters and overloaded circuits. | Its own protected supply, safeguarded low-voltage outputs. |
| Access | Anyone charges with anything. | Authorised users only, overview in Powerbox.cloud. |
| Documentation | Nothing you could show. | A documented measure for insurers, fire officers and inspections. |
No station removes the risk of a faulty battery. But it turns random charging into managed, documented charging in one place.
The complete solution
A bike room where everything has its place
The wall-mounted station charges up to six bikes in racks, and cables to borrow wait in a lockable box below it. No chargers in offices, no cables on the floor.
- Wall-mounted station6 DC outputs (5× 4 A, 1× 10 A for fast charging up to 420 W – up to 5× faster than a standard charger) and 2 AC sockets, an LED at every slot.
- Cable boxA set of cables for the most common bikes, always at hand in one place.
- Bike racksBikes stand safely and the cable reaches without extension leads.
- A layout you can documentOne dedicated place away from offices and escape routes.

Where Powerbox helps companies and buildings
Offices and business parks
Safe charging for employees who commute by e-bike. One point in the bike room instead of dozens of chargers around the building.
Fleets and company bikes
Couriers, service technicians, facility teams. Overnight charging with an overview of every slot. The fast output of up to 420 W recharges a bike between shifts up to 5× faster.
Apartment buildings
No more batteries in flats and basement storage. A shared bike room with charging that the building's insurer will approve.
Developers and planners
A charging point designed from the start: supply, protection, location. We prepare the planning documents.
Documents for planners
Powerbox.cloud
Know who is charging. Manage the station remotely.
Every station is connected to Powerbox.cloud. The operator sees status, usage and energy consumption in real time and decides who may charge.
- Access controlCharging only for employees, tenants or selected groups.
- Usage and consumptionPer slot and over any period – a basis for billing and for deciding on expansion.
- Building integrationData can be shared with building management systems (BMS) and smart buildings.

Delivery
From the first meeting to a working station
One team handles the whole journey: design, installation, service and Powerbox.cloud support.
Consultation and design
We assess the space, the number of bikes and the power supply. In person at the Powerbox Solution Park next to Prague airport, on site or online.
Quote and documents
Price, location, protection requirements and documents for the planner, the electrical inspector and the insurer.
Installation and operation
Installation, training, a set of cables for the most common bikes and access settings in the cloud.

A cable set for the 14 most common systems. Riders with their own cable charge without borrowing.
FAQ
What companies ask us
Do we need an electrical inspection or a design for the station?
The station connects to its own protected circuit, which is inspected like any other electrical installation. Charging is also a new activity in the building that should be included in your fire safety documentation.
We supply documents for the electrician, the inspector and your fire safety officer.
How many bikes does the station charge and how fast?
Up to 8 at once: 6 DC outputs (five at 4 A and one fast output at 10 A) for Powerbox cables and 2 AC sockets for original chargers. A typical battery charges from 30 to 80% in about 40–60 minutes.
Do employees need their own cable?
No. You get a cable set for the most common systems (Bosch, Shimano, Yamaha, Panasonic and others) and lend it out, for example at reception. Anyone who buys their own cable doesn't need to borrow one.
Can we restrict who charges?
Yes. In Powerbox.cloud you allow access for authorised users only and see the usage of each slot.
Can the station be installed outdoors?
Yes. It is rated IP54 and resistant to weather and vandalism. It suits bike rooms, garages, shelters and building façades.
Can we lease the station?
Yes. With our partner GRENKE we offer operating leases for stations, cables and racks, with fixed payments over 12 to 48 months. Ask us about the terms in your country. How leasing works →
Does a station make charging risk-free?
No, and nobody should promise you that. No station can fix a faulty battery. But it turns uncontrolled charging around the building into a managed, documented activity in one dedicated place – exactly what firefighters and insurers recommend.
